The juries evaluated two Silverado’s -- one was an extended-cab gas SRW and the other a crew-cab diesel dually. They compared two Ford Super Duties, two Sierra HDs and two Silverado’s in a back-to-back comparison; both on highway straights as well as twisty roads, and the Silverado came out as the unanimous winner of the award.

The Chevy engineers have worked hard and upgraded the Silverado HD for 2011. Although the exterior looks identical with the earlier versions, the underlying mechanics have been improved, pretty much to make the engine more powerful and stronger.

The all new Chevy Sonic is powered by 1.4 –liter turbocharged engine coupled with 6-speed manual transmission which is capable to produce 138 hp power and 148-lb-ft of torque. The vehicle has a fantastic fuel economy, 40-mpg in highway. The Sonic has a slightly improved gearing and weighs about 400 fewer pounds than the Cruze so a better fuel economy and acceleration is expected from this car.

Chevrolet Sonic is an economy car and has a wheelbase of 99.4 inch. The cargo area in the five-door has a removable false floor that creates a level surface when the seats are folded. There is also a cargo storage area behind the rear seats. Some of the other features include air conditioning, power locks, keyless entry, stability control but the most impressive one is its 10 air bags.

So far Chevrolet has not revealed its pricing but has only hinted that the price would be competitive in the segment.
