After what transpired in 2016, the J.D. Power auto awards may as well be renamed the Chevrolet auto awards.
The American manufacturer cleaned up in 2016 and was the most awarded brand at this year’s annual trophy giveaway. Seven different Chevy models drove home with a total of nine awards in tow. Chevrolet had everything from pickup trucks to SUVs to sports cars to electric models bring home an award, a true testament to the versatility displayed by one of America’s longest-running brands.
Here are the 2016 Chevy cars and trucks that were recognized by J.D. Power and Associates.
The Equinox took home a double dose of awards with the titles of “Most Dependable Compact SUV” and “Highest Ranked Compact SUV in Initial Quality,” an award the Equinox captured for the second year in a row.
Chevrolet Silverado HD
The Silverado HD also did a double-dip in 2016, grabbing the “Most Dependable Large Heavy Duty Pickup” distinction for the second straight year, as well as the choice for “Highest Ranked Large Heavy Duty Pickup in Initial Quality.”
Chevrolet Silverado LD
Not to be outdone by its HD sibling, the Silverado LD took home some hardware of its own in the “Highest Ranked Large Light Duty Pickup in Initial Quality.”
For the fourth consecutive year, the Camaro was selected as the “Most Dependable Midsize Sporty Car.”
The Spark made it back-to-back years for the title of “Highest Ranked City Car in Initial Quality.”
