The vernal and autumnal equinox have long been celebrated as a new beginning, and that is what Chevrolet intends to do with their compact SUV. The Chevy Equinox has been newly redesigned for the 2018 model year. Now featuring a more aggressive look, the new Equinox is lighter and better equipped than ever before. Powered by an available turbo-diesel engine that gets an EPA-estimated 40 miles per gallon, the Equinox is poised to excel as an excellent family vehicle.

2018 Chevy Equinox Inside and Out

Interior

From first glance, the new Equinox strikes a commanding pose. The front fascia features an aggressive grille and headlight reminiscent of the sporty Chevy Cruze. On the top, you’ll find roof rails and an available panoramic sunroof. The rear of the Equinox features an available hands-free liftgate that allows it to be opened with a simple wave of the foot. Once opened, the 60/40 split rear seat folds flat for 63.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

The Equinox features a unique denim-style upholstery that is both attractive and comfortable, with reclining rear seats that sit high for enhanced visibility. For added convenience, this SUV is equipped with a rear vision camera on the MyLink® touchscreen, giving you a clear view when reversing.

Performance

The powerhouse of the Equinox is one of three turbocharged engines:

  • 1.5L 4-cylinder
  • 2.0L 4-cylinder
  • 1.6L turbo diesel

Each offers unique features and powerful capabilities depending on your needs.

The 2018 Equinox’s available all-wheel drive enhances traction and gives you more control on slippery roads. You can easily switch from front-wheel drive to all-wheel drive with just a press of a button. Right next to that button is the Tow/Haul mode, a quick way to let your Equinox know you need some assistance in hauling up to 3,500 pounds.
